Small Stuff

Up until the past few weeks, shayla's been working mostly in the evenings. There's been plenty of time in the morning and early afternoon to do her daily duties, exercise, housework, and so on. Now her work hours begin in the mid-morning. Resulting in her whole routine going down the toilet. Shayla's very much a creature of habit, so this has taken some getting used to. She hasn't been letting her more immediate duties lax. But some tasks keep nagging at the back of her mind. Any number of little things to be done around the house, errands that she's been wanting to do.

She's been keeping her priorities straight, not laxing on what's most important to her Master and her. Serving and spending time with him, her exercise, the writing, keeping the house up, she's kept up on those. But the little, low-priority things she's been letting bother her. Because she's been wanting keep up on everything. While finishing her exercises the other night she found herself offering Master an apology for not doing more than what she had been. His response was, 'Have I been saying anything about it? If I'm not worried about something, do you need to be?'

He always gets straight to the heart of the matter in only one or two sentences. Excellent point, it really hit home. Master's not said a word about the island of chaos around his computer, the candles shayla's been needing to replace for the past few days. Not a word about any of it, except the time that shayla brought up the idea of skipping a meal in favor of getting more work done. Then he said something ("I suggest you stop and eat, shayla" Enough said). But other than that not a thing. He knows he's set her a full plate, that she's not playing or web-surfing on the computer or talking with friends while she should be getting her tasks done. How in the evenings she is still trying to do as much as she can, even though tired from the day's duties.

Shayla doesn't need to worry about these little things because her Master's not worried about them and her performance. In all her duties and 1,001 things she needs to do each day, the #1 main priority is pleasing him. And she'll certainly not be doing that by making herself crazy and exhausted staying up 'til 1:30 in the morning scrubbing the kitchen floor when he'd prefer her to be laying in bed keeping it warm for him. So long as a kajira's Owner is happy with how his girl is performing and pleasing him, that's all she needs to be worried about.
